Salt Lake City, UT — 13 May 2024 — After 37 years of business in the historic B'Nai Israel Synagogue, leading MillerKnoll dealer HB Workplaces is excited to announce the relocation of its headquarters to a cutting-edge facility at Baltic Pointe in Draper, Utah. This move signifies a pivotal step in the company's ongoing expansion and its commitment to sustainability, wellness, and flexible workplace design.

Future-Focused Relocation

HB Workplaces has experienced significant growth over its nearly 45-year history, outgrowing its current location. The new headquarters at Baltic Pointe, developed by Gardner Company and owned by Pelion Ventures, lies at the strategic crossroads of Utah and Salt Lake counties. It features innovative cross-laminated timber construction – the largest mass timber building of its kind in Utah – which significantly reduces the carbon footprint while enhancing energy efficiency.

"At HB Workplaces, we believe that companies can only thrive when their employees are thriving," says Dave Colling, CEO of HB Workplaces. "The transformative power of place is profound, reinforcing the fact that an environment built to support wellness, connection, and flexibility can dramatically elevate individual and collective potential."

Strategic Growth and Community Impact

The relocation is strategically aligned with the long-term potential of The Point—a vibrant, walkable community supported by UTA's Trax light rail transit, that promises to enhance the quality of life for its residents and businesses alike. This move will allow HB Workplaces to leverage its strong regional economy, enhancing its market share and utilizing their 40-year partnership with MillerKnoll to spearhead the creation of next-generation workplaces in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho.

Employee-First Experience

The new space will immediately improve HB's daily operations by offering a diverse layout that promotes flexibility and connection. It is designed to cater to all aspects of work life—supporting individual wellness and focus, enabling team collaboration, and fostering community socialization.Additionally, HB Workplaces' specialized divisions, HB Build (prefabricated interior construction) and Spacesaver Intermountain (specialty storage), will join the headquarters. This shared location will serve as a powerful testament to the company’s comprehensive expertise and unified portfolio of interior products.

Community to Design Leadership and Quality

HB Workplaces continues to lead by example in the local architecture and design community, demonstrating the importance of investing in high-quality, research-backed workplace solutions. "Our new headquarters is not just a building; it's a statement of our appreciation and stewardship of design, built upon a decades-long heritage of our own, along with MillerKnoll, that underscores our commitment to excellence," Colling added.
